ECAIF: Skills Forum
22 November 2019
ECAIF aims to facilitate the transformation of the Eastern Cape Automotive Industry and support member firms in improving their Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) scores. Given the forthcoming linking of the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) incentives to firms with a B-BBEE score of Level Four or better, ECAIF hosted a workshop highlighting case studies of best practice in B-BBEE management as well as highlighting the changes to the B-BBEE Codes.
Objectives:
- To deepen an understanding of the B-BBEE Codes and 2019 changes pertaining to ownership, management control, procurement, enterprise and supplier development, skills development and socio-economic development amongst cluster members
- To facilitate peer-learning and the presentation of best practice in B-BBEE
ECAIF invited those responsible for managing B-BBEE in their organisation to a workshop that aimed to share and discuss B-BBEE compliance and amendments to the Labour Relations Act.
Agenda included:
- Skills Forum Progress Report
- B-BBEE Codes Overview
- Firm Case Study
